Challenge

Brown Printing, one of the country’s largest printing companies, faced significant challenges from social media and the rise of online periodicals, affecting its revenues. The need for strong leadership, enhanced communication, and greater efficiency became paramount. The company’s management, comprising both new and experienced leaders needing state-of-the-art training, prompted the initiation of an extensive leadership development program for its three plants.

Solution

Right Chord Leadership designed a year-long program focused on critical leadership competencies such as influence without authority, persuasion techniques, resilience and adaptability, conflict management, and delegation. Implemented for more than 130 supervisors across three states, the program utilized case studies, role plays, and real-work scenarios that allowed participants to practice critical interpersonal skills and receive direct coaching.

Results

The program led to notable improvements in a number of areas, including feedback delivery, change management, recognition of achievements, and granting autonomy to front-line workers. Participants reported increased confidence in expressing opinions to senior managers and embracing diverse viewpoints within teams. The use of DISC Assessments further enabled supervisors to effectively interact with varying temperaments and personalities, significantly enhancing workplace dynamics and leadership effectiveness at this bustling company.
